It financially supports institutions in Canada that recognize and foster individuals in undergraduate study who show leadership potential and a commitment to activities that benefit the community both on and outside the campus. FCE was created by US supporters of the Loran Scholars Foundation, most of them associated in one way or another with the Morehead-Cain Foundation in Chapel Hill, NC.
